THE
POWER OF THE ANCIENT SOUNDS
AKA:
MANTRAS

In
times past there have been many associations made with the word (or
term) MANTRA.
Let's
unpack this word together.
MANTRA:
The word is from the Sanskrit language...here is the Sanskrit for the
word: मंत्र
Most
people do not have a clue what the word means. It is one of those
words that gets used...but with little context as to the origin of
the actual word.
You
get the word mantra used to make a reference to the latest bit of
dogma to come down the pipe from a political party, or a business:
“...The pundits in the Liberal Party seem to have found a new
mantra...and it is the name of their new leader...”
Another
example: “...At Microsoft, there is a mantra being used at the top
levels of the company, it is this: 'Own Everything.'”
And
finally: “...The American military have a new mantra: 'If you can't
beat 'em, buy 'em!'”
Please
insert appropriate laugh track.
Long
ago, in 1971, I was formally initiated by a teacher of
Transcendental Meditation...and I learned how to meditate the TM way.
This
included being given my own, unique mantra.
In
my little world, the word mantra was explained to me as meaning: “A
meaningless sound whose effects are known.”
Well,
I went on to become a teacher of SCI (Science of Creative
Intelligence) and TM, plus, for good measure, a full-fledged Governor
of the Age of Enlightenment...and, what...more? Yes, I became an
Executive Governor of the Age of Enlightenment.
Through
all of this time in Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's grand experiment with
enlightening the entire universe...I was convinced that the mantra I
was using was a meaningless sound whose effect was known.
But...that
was not true. The meaning of the sound was known. As it turns out,
the mantras of the TM deal are known to be names of Gods...and I
think they are part of the worship of the goddess Saraswati.
This
makes a lot of sense to me because Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's master was
Swami Brahamanda Saraswati.
Anyway,
you might be wondering what is the point I am trying to make...the
“so what” factor in all this.
I
think part of my “point” is that I want to out the deception
pulled on people in the name of not wanting to scare the
children...or turn people off from getting into, say, TM...because
the mantras are names of God...or as some scholars put it, “Seed
Mantras.”
What
this means is that some mantras are made up of component sounds that
invoke the influence and enlivenment of that aspect of the deity the
mantra is associated with.
The
use of the seed mantra is a form of devote worship of specific
aspects of a specific God...and the God in this case is one from the
Hindu religion...and from the tradition of the Veda.
Maharishi
Mahesh Yogi and the movement that he created (with the help of many,
many people...people like me)...was credited with being part of The
Holy Tradition.
Now
that term was and is used...depending on the circumstances.
Maybe
you're thinking I am bitter about all this pretence surrounding the
TM movement...well, I am not.
AND
I am NOT jealous, or envious...sorry, no.
Just
tell me the truth. Not the oozing pretend pretence political spin
doctored pap...no thanks.
Tell
me the truth.
And
don't give me the pat answer of: “...Which truth is that?”
My
best definition of the word mantra is that it is from the Sanskrit
language, and mantras are sounds made up of consonants and
vowels...and they are NOT meaningless sounds...far from it...mantras
have stupendously amazing meanings...and the bit about the effects
being known?
Who
knows the effects of a mantra?
Do
you?
I
don't...other than the usual benefits that come from using a specific mantra.
Oh,
sure, some people are going to think they know because someone told
them what the effect is going to be. Hey, I can do that, too.
For
example, back in the day, the reason we TM initiators shied away from
using the holy mantra AUM (OM) was because we were told this was a
mantra ONLY to be used by renunciates...bramahacharyas...NOT by
“householders”.
What
is a “householder?” This is a quaint term used by Maharishi
Mahesh Yogi to describe people who were NOT monks...people who were
having families, getting married, and so on.
So,
no go on the mantra AUM (OM)...because that would create the tendency
to become celibate and foresake the pursuit of being a “householder.”
Really?
Is this really true? IF you use the mantra AUM, are you going to slip
away into the life of a monk?
Okay,
okay...now on to the use of the Ancient Sounds.
I
have selected a series of names that describe the essence of
God...and they are derived from the Hebrew language.
I
know, I know...they are NOT derived from Sanskrit...so they can't be
any good, right?
Well,
what I find most curious is that many of the Ancient Sounds I am
using in the Deep Meditation course have a striking resemblance to
mantras found in The Holy Tradition that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was
from.
Anyway,
I want you to know that when you take the Deep Meditation course that
I am putting online through The God Consciousness Project website...the ancient sounds you are being taught are component parts
of the names of God...the ONE God.
I
suppose for all you Jesus Freaks out there this might be a reason to
stop with the worry about being taken over by The Enemy...and that
you can actually take this Deep Meditation course and be safe...from
being taken over by some weird Hindu deal.
By
the way, just so you know, you cannot really convert yourself into
being a Hindu...it's a matter of being literally born into a Hindu
family. Yes, I know there are sects of Hinduism that will take you
on...and do a ceremony of converting you into their sect...and that's
just fine with me.
Oh,
and another thing...just to clear the record...I am a Christian. Yes,
I believe in the Easter Bunny, The Invisible Man, The Virgin Birth,
and a Holy Ghost who knocked her up...and all that stuff. I know, I
know, I am cracked in the head...and sure, there is a lot of evidence
to support the contention that Jesus didn't even exist...that he was
made up by the people who had their own agenda, at the time.
So,
I get it. I really do.
You
are justifiably sceptical (hmmm, spell check says it's spelt
sceptical...but skeptical looks better) about The Church,
and...hey...people who go around saying CRAZY stuff like the Earth
was created...what...6,000 years ago?
And
all this horrible silliness about sexual orientation...and
abortion...and so on. Hot stuff...contentious...problematic: People
get really crazy when it comes to religion.
They
kill in the name of God.
Me?
I go to church. I read the Bible...yeah, I do. And I don't cherry
pick my favourite parts...and duck the tough questions...and pretend
that the book isn't filled with slaughter and betrayal and one crazy
nutso psycho God.
More
about all that another time...I think I do digress...so...
...Okay,
back to the ancient sounds...or...Ancient Sounds: When you take these
old sounds into your body, and learn how to slowly take these ancient
sounds into your mind...on the level of thinking...and take the
ancient sounds further, to the level of your awareness...you are
going to be resonating with sounds that describe the full spectrum of
creative and intelligent essence...that which manifests all of
creation...all the aspects of 'it.'
You
will be enlivening in your self the source of you...and this means
you are going to be drawing closer and closer to the source of the
source...and so on...in a infinite progression, deeper and deeper.
You will expand your consciousness and integrate your self with who
you are and where you come from.
That's
what's going on when you follow the Deep Meditation course. That's
the meaning behind the ancient sounds, and the effect that is known.
Oh
sure, there are tons of positive benefits from doing Deep
Meditation...and it is...amazing that you can get so much by doing so
little. And it feels good, too.
- Relaxing
- Restful
- Energizing
- Calming
- Releases stress
Basically,
if you do this Deep Meditation regularly, you are going to get a lot
out of it that will be a boon to your daily life. Now, that doesn't
mean that you are going to be able to walk on water...or walk through
walls...or...well, you get what I mean.
But...regular
practice is going to make you smarter, calmer, clearer, happier...and
some people will feel the results more than others...but everyone
will get some results...and for the VAST majority of people, the
results will be entirely positive.
Obviously
some people are NOT going to like doing Deep Meditation...because it
takes time to start to get into the groove, and because it just seems
like a big waste of time...they feel too restless during the
practice...stuff like that.
All
I can say is stick to it. Don't quit. Shove it into your routine. And
make sure you aren't straining at it when you do it.
And
that's one of the reasons why the Deep Meditation course is PACKED
with really cool stuff you can do while you are in the midst of daily
action...and why there are simple breathing exercises...and skills of
vital energy.
Why?
Because NOT everyone is going to get into the meditation part of the
course...and they need something that is going to do amazing things
for them...IF they ONLY practice regularly...in cracks of time....
So...some
of the stuff you can do lying down, while you fall asleep...or if you
wake up in the middle of the night, and you can't fall back to
sleep...or...whatever!
Hey,

you have NO excuses...you can do this, if you want to.
I
hope you've gained a bit more insight into all this mantra business,
and the ancient sounds being used in the Deep Meditation course.

the Best,
