Thought Correction and Dynamic Intrusion

OR: Part Two of Dynamic Intrusion

Yesterday I wrote about the process of active self-awareness and making changes, on the fly, with the very thoughts you are thinking. I suggested that you ask God to help you do this. My point is clear: You do need your higher consciousness to step in and actually stop the thought flow that is negative...and give you a chance to make a new choice...and repurpose your thoughts.

Today I am writing to you about a further refinement of this process. And it might seem a bit radical to you. I get that. And that is okay. Let's push the boundaries a bit...why not? Perhaps we can even move the goal posts.

Let's assume you are in the thrall of a thought stream that is taking you deep into enemy territory. The enemy is of your own making. The enemy is a collusion of negative ideas that move your awareness further and further away from the positive.

They could include:
  • Self-blame
  • Blame of others
  • Thoughts of revenge
  • Wanting to get even
  • Feeling offended and insulted
  • Hurt...misunderstood
  • Pissed off
This is a partial list. I could keep going.

Your feelings and thoughts could have a basis in fact...some action or non-action that somebody or something has done to you or not done to you. Yes, you can be wronged...right?

You can feel you are owed an apology. Perhaps a debt needs to be repaid? Or a repair made to something? Somebody has cheated you, or cheated on you. You have been betrayed in some hurtful way. Maybe it was callous indifference?

Anyway, your thoughts are locked on target, and round and round they go...orbiting the Planet of Discontent. And along this merry way, you are invaded by a dynamic intrusion of the cosmic consciousness that interrupts the process of your mental torture.

You are asked to stop. Just...stop.

You get that prompting to stop. "Let's change the channel, shall we?"

This might take place when the thought-error is relatively mild, and is at the beginning stage of starting that journey into more and more yuck-muck. That edgy critical habituation you might have to see the warts and hideous puss pockets of another person.

And you get a firm intrusion into your conscious awareness that pinpoints your moment of personal choice.

You might be lucky enough to be given a replacement idea. That's cool. You are...lucky.

Maybe you've been asking God to do that for you.
(Not a silly thing to do, by the way.)

The process of thought correction and purification requires acting on the cease and desist order given to you by the creator of your conscious awareness...and your lesser known unconscious awareness.

The unconscious awareness is hidden from you because it is...unconscious. It only comes to your conscious notice when you become aware of the thoughts and feelings you have been having...that you were not aware of...moments before you became aware of them.

Then...sometimes...you can scroll back, and piece together where you've been traveling in thought land...while you were...unconsciously thinking and feeling.

When the self-absorption is shifted out of the unconscious, that's the time you can take affirmative action and begin to make some new choices. You can challenge the content that you've been creating.

Most of your thoughts and feelings are based on beliefs.

If you think about this, you will begin to see that this is true. And it deserves your serious contemplation. The idea of how most of what you think and feel is based on beliefs that you believe to be true...about somebody or something...this is powerful self-knowledge.

What we believe is important. Our thoughts and feelings...and our actions...are based on our beliefs.

Here are some examples:
  • I am a loser
  • I am always going to be fat
  • Nobody likes me
  • I am unlikeable
  • I am a slow learner
  • I can't learn a new language
  • It's too difficult
  • I am no good with money
  • I never have enough money
  • You can't trust men
  • You can't trust women
The list is possibly endless. And these beliefs are often based on ideas that you did not come up with...you've borrowed them, or they've been imprinted on your mind...via your family of origin, your social hierarchy...and by way of long-standing attitudes of your society.

With each and every thought and feeling, you can hold them up to the interior chooser-decider...and ask yourself...is this a belief? Or is it based on natural, divine law?

Let me get this clothed in a scenario:
You become aware that you are thinking about somebody at work and you are having some negative thoughts about the person. You are tempted to say something...or do something. And you get a dynamic intrusion, and God asks you to pause, wait, stop.

You take a look at what your thinking and feeling, and you realize that it is based on a belief. Yes, maybe what somebody did was wrong...and you can decide what action is...the best action.

Let's take this further. Let's say my wife says something to me that pisses me off. I don't like it. And I realize I am getting triggered. I can feel the raw reaction rushing to find release. And in this time before my mouth opens and I fire words like bullets...I am lucky enough to have God stop me. It is enough time for me to catch up with myself.

Oh, I may not get through a complete check via personal self observation...and examine the belief that my thoughts and feelings are coming from. And maybe my wife is being horrible. If I am lucky enough to have God come in to my mind and catch my attention, and ask me to pause, wait, stop...and I yield to this divine, dynamic intrusion...I can begin to receive a thought and feeling correction, in the moment, on the fly.

To date, I have noticed that it is important that I notice the addition of the correct idea and the content put in my mind, inside my thoughts, to replace the previous thought tendency.

This is an improvement...like a home improvement...and you put in new, improved content to replace the misconception.

Oh, you may not have misconceived that someone was being a real dick. People can be...mean...and on purpose, too. Just...nasty because they can be. And if you get in their face about it, well...if they are inclined to be contentious and brawling...you might just be stepping into a carefully laid trap.

Some people wake up offended and looking for an outlet of their rancor. What you do with this...is your business. And it is a place where really big growth opportunities abound.

(This does require persistence over time...but it does work, and much progress can be made.)

In that delicate moment of dynamic intrusion, you are given a HUGE opportunity to grind out some of the latent impressions that occlude your own God Consciousness. And it can seem like the toughest work you've ever done to NOT blow your cork and explode all over the transgressor.

After all, you have a right to your anger, don't you? You deserve to be treated better, don't you? And to let some one walk all over you...take advantage of your good nature...well, that's foolish, right? After all, nice guys finish last, right?

Let's continue this in the next article.
