OR: How to Be A Saint With Reverse Engineering
So I have an ear infection (as of this date: Sunday, January 31, 2016), and it is a devil of an infection. Near as I can remember, it started off a week ago. I first noticed it while at work. My ear felt...funny. Like I'd been up on an airplane ride, and then come back down to Earth, and then had that weird pressure thing happen...you know?
My ear just didn't feel...right. Something off about the way it felt. And it kept getting more and more funky. By the next day, in the evening, my wife took me to the walk in clinic in Victoria, BC...to have a doctor give my ear a look-see...and, yeah, there was puss inside, and, yeah, it was infected.
So...I get a prescription for auntie and uncle biotics, and off me and the wife go to the Shopper's Drug Mart...in the next mall over. And we get my prescription filled. (Cue song: "You Can't Always Get What You Want") ==> https://youtu.be/OagFIQMs1tw
And I start taking the stuff as soon as I get the pills.
Next evening...my wife and I were back at the same clinic. The pain was worse. Saw another doctor, he told me the infection had spread. Another prescription. But this time...I didn't get it filled. I was feeling too cheap. And also...maybe the real reason...all the tylenol I'd taken had finally kicked in, and beaten the pain down enough so I wasn't ready to take a Black and Decker power drill to my right ear and give 'er 'till she quivered.
So, yeah, I skipped getting the auntie-bio drops...also 'cuz I figured that the first prescription which I was faithfully taking would work on the spreading infection...right? Makes sense, right?
WRONG!
Now, more about this fascinating diversion into my personal health life a little bit later.
Right now you might be wondering where the bleep The Devil has got to in this article.
I sympathize with your plight...my dear reader...I really do.
I can have a tendency to wander round the may-poles, delighting in the seduction of my own prose. Some people love the sound of their own voice, and some of us love our own writing. And some of us love both, and even more.
What this all brings up for me is the process of how I could be suffering from an ear infection in the first place. And why I can't immediately heal myself with the power of intention...or The Vortexian alignment...OR by the cleansing flame of The Holy Spirit...or the sheer power of a clear decree that I make while in tune with God Consciousness...and so on.
Is it The Devil bleeping with me?
Before I answer my own question...let's take a loving look at something that does seem quite mystical and bizarre...and is barely known about, let alone widely talked about by anyone. Yet it is very well known, and is ALWAYS accounted for when doing any sort of serious testing of a new drug or treatment.
What is this...thing?
The Placebo Effect.
What Is the Placebo Effect?
Okay, that's great...but what does the word actually mean?
Like, define the word PLACEBO....
Right! That's more like it.
Now, this reminds me of a true story from my childhood. I was living in Ghana with my parents and eldest sister. And this family friend was on his way into town, driving his car. And this guy deliberately walked in front of the car. And so the family friend hit this guy. And the guy was killed from the impact.
The backstory to this tragic accident was that the guy had been told by a Ju-Ju witch doctor that he was to die...and so rather than have to wait for that to happen, the guy decided to kill himself...and not to delay the process...basically help it along.
After all, he was doomed, right?
So...he stepped in front of our family friend's car...and, SPLAT! --- that was that.
This is an example of the power of suggestion...and what it can make you do.
Now...most of us have heard of the Placebo Effect...and have a vague idea about what it means...and the possible implications.
But not a lot of us have heard of...
...The Nocebo Effect!
And you can see for yourself how little this word is bandied about...just by comparing the Google search result numbers for placebo (36,500,000) and nocebo (417,000).
Strange, eh?
Let's put this in the context of the subject of this article: The Devil.
In this case, The Devil is represented by the nocebo effect...and the Good Guys are represented by the placebo effect.
So...just as the placebo effect means that anywhere from 18 to 80% of people will have direct physical, measurable changes...like bald men regrowing hair (that's right!)...just from being told that a pill, lotion or potion that they are taking will cure their...whatever it is...by someone they think of as being an authority about whatever it is...
...so too will up to 25% of people who are told about the negative side-effects of a treatment...that is ONLY a saline solution...or a sugar pill...like patients receiving FAKE chemotherapy actually puked and LOST THEIR FREAKING HAIR!
I am totally serious. This shit is...REAL.
And it is at work in your life, too.
Remember...just me SUGGESTING that...or in this case...ASSERTING this to you, as a respected authority in the spiritual realms of getting some deep God shit going on...this will have an effect on you...that you aren't even aware of.
This goes in deep...into your sub-conscious.
And this is the part of you that confirms or denies your inner-most-inner belief stuff...systems...orientation...whatever you want to call "it."
It can even kill you...like the guy who walked in front of our family friend's car.
In one study...patients who were "convinced" that they were going to die were put through the statistical wringer...and compared to another group of patients who were ONLY "unusually apprehensive" about their mortality...and dying.
The results?
The apprehensive patients did okay...in the statistical normal range...BUT the patients who were convinced they were going to die...buried the statistical needle...they mostly all did die.

We are getting into some interesting territory here. And it behooves all of us to pay attention to what we are thinking, and the way we are thinking it...and when we are thinking it...and so on. Because just like the old qi gong admonition goes, "Where the mind goes, the energy follows..." so to our entire life...and our soul...roundly summed up by what we consciously focus on.
Oh, I know it is tough to lasso that wild bronco---your mind---and bring it to take the bit, and the rein. It is the work of a lifetime...probably more than that, too. But more about that idea in future articles. (I am referring to...reincarnation.)
The power you have within is just fricking tremendous. This is the truth of the situation. And the more you get your head and heart into this idea...the more traction and momentum you are going to have...to break free of the gravity of sub-conscious orientations impressed upon you by your family of origin...your society...and the dominant species silliness passed along over the last...oh, several million years.
These negative thought concept implants are VERY convincing...and powerful. They INFLUENCE you...and create outcomes that you probably don't really want in your life...or the lives of other people.

Now...before you go thinking to yourself that this was that poor guy who had this happen to him...keep in mind that FACT that you are influenced by negative thought concepts...or that you have been influenced...or that OTHER people are influenced by negative thought concepts...or...let's put it another way:
We are influenced by Negative Thought and Belief Energy Vibrations 
This brings us to the idea of group consciousness...and further along this conceptual trail...the idea of world or global consciousness. And this brings us quickly back to individual consciousness.
And that brings us to the idea of consciousness itself...as a state of being...that can be defined by specific attributes...and not just your intellectual predilections.
So...to the actual functioning of your brain, and nervous system. Literally, how enlightened you are. For some of you...this could mean the rate of vibration of your, er, chakras...and so on.
For some of you, this might mean an exhaustive analysis of a whole slew of characteristics and attributes, including the kind of brain waves you have, your blood chemistry, galvanic skin response...the list is quite long...and what's really messed up...the ability to control specific aspects of autonomic physiology.

I want you to try and grasp what this means for you...in the practical rough and tumble of your daily life...and how to apply these basic principles...AND get some momentum and traction.

We begin to change ourselves by first knowing that change is possible...and practical, too. And desirable.
It is possible to change long-standing mental habits...and other habits, too. And just knowing that it is possible can begin the greatest achievement of your life. One thing is for sure...learning about how other people changed---from the inside-out---can really reach deep inside us...and start to chip away at the excuses we sometimes make to ourselves.
The basic principle of reverse engineering is to take an existing machine, software or whatever...something human made...and figure out how it works, and then apply what you learn by this process of technical analysis...to make the same thing yourself...or improve upon it...make it better.
AKA back-engineering.
In line with some conspiracy theories about new technology...is the opinion that some of our human tech stuff has been back-engineered from space-alien stuff.
Moving right along...
...with how to apply the principles of reverse engineering to your own life...and to initiate a sincere personal transformation...is the idea that you are being influenced by the overall consciousness of the entire global community of human beings. This also means that you have an influence on every other person in the world, too. Your state of consciousness has a direct impact on everyone else.
Let's take this a bit further...oh, say...throughout the entire cosmos. Why not? After all, let's think big! You are having a direct influence on every little bit of every other little bit that exists everywhere else. And this extends through all the various esoteric layers of spiritual reality, too.
Oh my!
Too big an idea for you to handle?
I sure get that.
Sometimes it's enough that I can manage to tie my shoe laces and get out the door.
Now what does any of this have to do with the good old Devil?
I am glad you asked.
Earlier on in this article, I started to have a go about placebo and nocebo. And I made a comparison between the two words...that The Devil was well represented by the word nocebo, "I shall harm."
For those of you who have read the first two articles I have written titled, "The Devil," you know that I have shared the idea that The Devil is a definite creation of God. And that The Devil serves a cosmic purpose.
Imagine for a moment that there are beings called angels...that they do exist. And that even in heaven there are evil spirits. And that sometimes God uses evil spirits to perform a task God wants done.
There are examples of this in the Christian Holy Bible.
Hey! Before you click away to some other website...or offline...lest your eyes burn with silly laughing...or insult...or...whatever --- keep in mind that what you think is very powerful, and can change or keep your life the same.
I am NOT advocating that you fear Satan, and look for the work of The Devil...and be afraid of The Enemy. And if you think that you are being misled by some mix of new age, eastern mysticism and so on...I get how you could come to that conclusion.
And if you are a new age person...one with The Vortex...or...whatever...hey! I get how my mere mention of The Devil will send you away from these pages.
But both types of people NEED to know about The Devil in the light that is coming from these articles. You need to get okay with this stuff. For as you journey through the personal transformation of your own life...you are going to encounter real evil. It is going to present itself to you.
And it is here, anyway. Even if you look away from it, and try and ignore it. Unless you've dealt with this stuff...it'll track you down, and get right in your face. That's just the way it is. It's a part of growing the bleep up...in the spiritual sense of the phrase.
You have to know how to deal with nocebo effect...even though it is just a shadow cast from the light hitting a place inside that has not been resolved.
That is why studying the lives of those who have traveled through these strange inner-lands of...personal darkness...can give you the stuff you need to borrow and apply in your own life, and improve upon, too.
Like Winston Churchill never did actually say:
But...he did say: "Never, never, never quit."
And I highly recommend that you take this to heart...and apply it when it comes to being with your personal journey inside God Consciousness. It is the little things that add up. And that means the little things, like the thoughts you are having from moment-to-moment.
You can get right inside that thinking thoughts deal...and deliberately reverse engineer your basic brain-frame...and that opportunity happens every time you become aware of what you are thinking...the sheer, little, tiny fact that you ARE having a thought.
This is that moment when you pop up onto the surface of your own consciousness and catch the fact that you've been swimming in your own thought-ocean...unaware that you were, in fact, thinking thoughts...even though you experienced thoughts.
And when you catch that moment of self-awareness, you can even trace some of the thoughts you were having BEFORE you became aware that you were thinking. And that can be very revealing to you...and give you a chance to acknowledge the thinking choice you were making. And to begin to make a new choice...a more pleasing choice...a more placeboic choice.
