Okay,
let's get to it...we've got some POWERFUL training in this lesson.
So, get ready, get set...let's go!
HANDY
TIPS FOR AMAZING RESULTS:
When
you sit down, stand up, or lie down to practice and enjoy the
combined techniques that you are learning through this course...here
is an idea for you to let flow through your intellect.
Now,
this is such a simple idea that it may just blow right by you. It is
easy to miss the importance of this tip.
It
can be summed up in one word: INNOCENCE.
Yeah,
not the kind that means you didn't do something you've been accused
of doing.
Let's
unpack this idea a bit more:
When
you get into Deep Meditation it is normal to have some sort of
expectation of a specific result. In fact, you could be sort of
watching for something to happen while you are doing some part or all
of your Deep Meditation practice.
This
anticipation of a result while being with a specific focus can
actually take some of the power out of your practice.
See,
if you are using part of your awareness to look for some kind of
result...this allows some effort to creep in to your practice.
It's
kind of like trying to ride two horses at the same time. If part of
you is watching and waiting for something to happen, that means you
are keeping some of your awareness engaged in a form of mental
activity that keeps your awareness busy doing something other than
being aware of awareness being aware of a specific focus.
The
answer to this perplexing contradiction of purpose is simple: When
you become aware that you are NOT with the focus, quietly and gently
come back to the focus.
IF
you are wondering when you are going to start being able to walk
through walls and walk on water...that expectation of a result ties
up some of your awareness.
Let's
get clear on this right now...letting go of any expectation or
anticipation of a result will help you to cultivate a natural state
of innocence.
This
means that as you experience whatever you experience, you are easy
with it, not forcing or straining or trying or concentrating...just
easily being with your awareness.
You
let your awareness ride on your...awareness. This is a gentle
approach, without the use of force. The less force you use, the
better.
Here's
the idea: Stop monitoring yourself...don't look for any specific
result. This will clear the way for some really amazing results that
will come all on their own.
Trust
me, you won't make this happen by trying to make this happen. It will
come all on it's own, when you're good and ready, and not a moment
before.
And
when it does come...hoo boy! When your awareness finally decides to
take you for the transcendental ride...you're gonna know for sure
that you aren't in Kansas anymore.
Now,
I hope you're intrigued and interested.
This
practice you are doing will deliver AMAZING results...but you MUST
let go of expecting and anticipating results: Allow all that to go
away, and enjoy being INNOCENT.
HOMEWORK
ASSIGNMENT:
Keep
on track with your twice a day practice of 15 to 20 minutes each
time.
Try
doing it when you wake up, after you do the normal bathroom routine.
The
main point here is to make sure you don't have a full bladder when
you start your practice.
Then,
later on, maybe after work, when you get home, take the time to have
a shower, and settle in for a nice practice session.
Okay,
okay...maybe you have kids...and what I am describing is a fantasy.
IF you travel by bus, you can do it while you sit on the bus.
Obviously
this isn't ideal.
Maybe
after the kids are in bed? Take a few minutes and settle in and do
this thing. If sleep comes, that's okay. Sleep just comes all on it's
own. There is nothing we can do about that. It is natural to fall
asleep during practice IF there is any fatigue present.
When
you wake up, take the time to finish with the secret ancient sound
awareness. This will help to clear out the cobwebs of fatigue.
Also,
it just may be that all you do is roll over and fall back into sleep,
and continue from there to sleep as normal.
Take
your time with all this stuff.
There
is no big rush.
Easy
does it.
In
your normal daily activity, when you become aware that you are not
with the secret ancient sound, quietly let your mind be with it.
Do
this throughout your day, in little cracks of time.
If
you are having to focus on someone talking to you, or some other
activity that requires your full attention...just let go of being
with the secret ancient sound.
Come
back to it when it is easy to do so.
