OR: All It Takes (sometimes) Is Just
One Word To Change Everything
(THIS really worked for me, and I hope it works for you, too.)
So...I'm, like, lying in bed...just tripping out on what the lesson of the day was gonna end up being.
And, like, God comes along, right? And tells me what to do, and how it's gonna go down for the lesson of the day. And I'm like...really? Just...that?
That's it?
And God is all, like, "Yeah...just think this word, and you'll see what happens. It'll be really cool. You'll see."
So...I'm like all, "Okay...I down with that. After all...you're God...so you oughta know what you're doing."
And God is, like, just all silent and quiet...like...waiting for me to get on with it.
And I do...get on with it.
And at first it's really lame. I mean, it's, like, duckpumping. Nada, zilch. Zero returns on my investment.
But I know God doesn't make junk, right?
After all, that's what all the T-shirts say, right?
So you know it's gotta be true.
See, I thought God would give me something really stupendous to give to you as the lesson of the day...not some gay word like...JOY.
Anyway, here's the deal:
Let this word be with you...like, in your mind...in your thoughts.
But be super gentle with this.
Don't be going all hard-core, heavy metal, head-banging wife-beater with this...ah, process.
How you do this is let the word JOY percolate, simmer-a-late, surf-a-do...with the word.
It comes, it goes...you let it come inside you...be there with you...as you go through your day.
And let it ride with you into the evening...past the setting sun...as the little moon rises...and now...to when you put your head down...to sleep.
Come back to the word...JOY...just as a word. You don't have to contemplate the meaning of the word. OR try to recall an event when you felt JOY. No sir, No ma'am.
All you gots to do is let the word come and go. And when you get an inkling that you are not with word...give it a tiny nudge...gentlest touch...with your awareness...and let yourself experience the presence of the word.
Don't be trying to be all sentimental about the word. IF you get some feelings rising up...all on their own...that's cool. Let the feelings flow. And when they ebb...don't be trying to cling to those feelings.
Just be with the word...JOY.
And if you want to use that breathing deal...you know...being with the chest-heart...and breathing in and out through your chest...that's just fine, do it.
If you need to review that process, take a quick tour through the last few articles.
All the Best!
