Quote from The Master:
When the mind is mainly engaged in thinking of God, you shall receive His grace.”

At the end of the day you are left with my testimony about these living Christs who have come and gone from this planet.

Last night, at the Christmas dinner, one of my family gave a run at grace, and offered up a brief invocation of the presence of Jesus Christ with a twist: “...if you exist...if he exists...”

I run into this a lot. And I know it on a personal level, too.

What?

Well, the doubt thing...about whether Jesus was real, and if he did actually live, and if he did, was he all that and a bag of chips?

I get it. I really do.

When you boil the soup stock, and the ingredients are roiling away, is there a God...or Gods?

As the old phrase from the Rig Veda goes, “Where are the gods?”

There is one supreme, absolute source. And after that there is something else. This is not a relative kind of thing, though it may seem that way...from my description.

After all, how can the absolute have a source?

Right now, in my own personal destination deal, I am being shown the presence of the so-called relative field of existence. This is the dynamic range of ever-changing stuff...like circumstances, people, creatures, places and things...the goings on of creation...the rise and fall of it all.

And within the oeuvre of the relative is this contradiction...ever-changing...this word ever...and the implications of always inherent in the word...ever.

This is the hint of the presence of the absolute, unchanging, eternal embedded within the relative, fluctuating, always changing field of the relative field of life.

Welcome to the absolute.

And to define the absolute as unchanging is to slap an attribute on that which is by definition without attributes.

A bit like the discussion of unconditional love...just saying that tacks on a condition to that which has...no...conditions. That is it's condition: It is unconditional.

And that also fits the absolute, too. The absolute has no conditions attached to it. Which puts a limit or a tag on that which by definition is undefinable...and has no limits or tags.

Do you follow?

Hmmmm.

Okay so far...but...and this is a very big but...here's the thing: I've been getting this very subtle hint about the existence of this third “thing,” this other part...and it is NOT the relative OR the absolute...it is...something else. Which I can't describe with words because it is not...word-matched.

I get these little nudges, tiny hints...the merest nothings about this “other”...er...whatever it is. Best I can slap onto it is that it is the source of the absolute...which is where the relative manifests from, and is integrated into.

I know, I know...very bizarre. I get that. Totally...get that.

How can the absolute have a source?
And does the source of the absolute have a source?

See, I thought the absolute was always there, never not there...at all. Ever. And that's why it was the absolute.

Oh well.
Mystery folded into puzzle blended into enigma refried with densified perplexifications.

What about the title of this article?
Swami Brahmananda Saraswati Speaks?

Which brings me to Swami Brahmananda Saraswati.

Okay, I am going to put in some links so you can read up on this guy.
(You will find the links as you keep on reading.)

I won't go into a long biography or give you my condensed version of his life.

I will include a link to a video of The Master and you can watch some black and white, and some colour video of this being being. (That's a deliberate play on words, just in case you couldn't figure that out.)

Plus you can hear him talk, too. And listen to him chant this very potent poem to the tradition of the guru. (Guru means literally, “dispeller of darkness.)

The poem in the video that features him chanting...the poem is called:
Charpata Panjarika Stotram.

By the way, the following is just one English translation of this poem. More about that later.
Charpata Panjarika Stotram:
(The 18 Gems of Wisdom)

Pray Govinda, Pray Govinda,
Pray Govinda, You fool,
For all the ken with you,
Will not be there,
When your end is near.

Daily comes the night, eve and morn.
The autumn and spring,
Comes again and again every year.
Time forever plays with life,
But desire does not desert this body forever.

The sun in the back,
And the fire behind,
Prevents biting cold during the day,
Knees meet the chin during the night,
To keep one warm.
And food comes by the daily begging,
Life is spent below a tree,
But desire does not desert this body forever.

Till you are able to earn,
The wealth that everybody yearns,
All the family you love,
Will love and care.
But when the cage of your body gets old,
They would not even ask you,
“How are you?”

Men with hairs overgrown,
Men with a shaved head,
Men with a well-cut hair,
Men with ochre robes,
See the world,
But pretend they don’t,
And suffer all the way,
To fill their belly forever.

Read and imbibe Bhagavat Gita,
Drink a drop of the holy Ganga,
At least once salute the Lord,
Then the God of death,
Will not bother you forever.

The limbs have become weak,
The head has become fully bald,
There are no teeth in the mouth,
And the old man totters with an aid of a stick,
But desire does not desert this body ever.

The child’s mind is engaged in play,
The youths mind is engaged in his lasses charms,
The old man’s mind is full of worries,
But no one thinks of the Ultimate Truth.

gain and again one is born,
And again and again one dies,
And again and again one sleeps in the mother’s womb,
Help me to cross,
This limitless sea of Life,
Which is uncrossable, my Lord

Again and again this dark nights,
Again and again this luster full days,
Again and again these months and years,
But pride and desire never leaves you forever

Why this passion, when one totters with age,
Why the search for water in the dried up lake,
Why search for relations, when wealth dries,
There is no desire for life,
When you get real knowledge. Of truth

Seeing the seductive female form, do not fall prey to maddening delusion. That (female form) is (but) a modification of flesh and fat. Think well thus in your mind again and again.

Who am I?
Where from did I come?
Who is my mother ?
Who is my father?
Think of these,
Realize that this world,
Is but a meaningless mirage,
And Leave this dream like world

Sing the Geetha,
And His thousand names,
Meditate on the Lord of Lakshmi,
Spend time with good souls,
Give all the wealth to the poor.

Till the breath is in the body,
All friends ask your welfare,
When it leaves your frame,
Even your darling wife,
Is full of fear of you , Hey fool

It is but for pleasure,
That a lady is sought,
Slowly the body gets sick,
The only path leads you,
To your death for sure,
Still no one leaves the sinful ways.

Like collecting strewn rags all the way,
In life one collects sin and good deeds.
Realize that me or you,
Is not the truth.
In your newly chartered path
Still why are you sad?

Take bath in Ganga,
Take a dip in the ocean,
Observe penance,
Give money to charity.
All faiths tell you without fail,
And if you do not realize this truth,
Even in hundred lives,
You will not attain the Lord.

You get joy,
Of meditation or passion,
Or you get joy,
In solitude or in company,
But All these are but impermanent.
Try to make your mind one,
With Para Brahmam,
That is the only permanent joy.

Okay, okay...I get it. This is all about renunciation and becoming all monk like and not having the craven flesh stuff...and NOT being a householder who goes after the gold, the girl and the gush.

I get it.

Same old song and dance from The Vedas. Yeah, and so many people have tried climbing this mountain of self-abnegation...the reduction sauce of desire, desire, desire.

And you know the old saw about having the desire for no desires is a desire. And that this desire for no desires is actually an impediment to attaining the state of no desire for desire.

Well, for sure one of the things that The Master apparently asked his master for was the removal of the need to be dependent on the world for material requirements like money, food, shelter, and so on.

Here are some of The Master's teachings:
(For a full dissertation of each point, please click the link at the end of this section of this article.)

1.Be cautious and learn to make full use of Bliss;

2.The instructions to realize God are to be practiced to bear fruit;

3.The recordings of your good doings reach the Eternal also - prepare for it even now

The basic message:
Be cautious and learn how to realize God, do good and reach toward the Eternal. That is fit.

Link to the main thesis of each of the above three points:

So, I wanted you to have this insight from this great being. And to tell you that this teaching is alive and well on our planet, and throughout the vast ranges of space and time that make up this known and unknown universe.

Yes, that is a bold statement.

I really truly hope that if you are of a Christian faith tradition...that you can see past the usual suspects of everything that isn't of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible is “The Enemy,” and therefore from the great deceiver, Satan...the fallen angel.

I mention this because I have been writing in the last few articles about great holy men who come from India, and that they were Hindu holy men...NOT Christians.

Therefore, for many people who worship Jesus and follow that specific type of faith that is so popular within the Christian deal...a Hindu would be considered as a unsaved soul...and doomed to hell.

Hey, before you start cherry picking The Bible, you ought to know that by definition, I am a fully saved Jesus Christ Christian. Fire breathing, born again, and the whole nine yards.

Yet I embrace and love all faiths and scriptures that love God and all of God's creation. To me, we are all one in Christ. And this means that I am as much a Hindu as I am a piece of spam or a Jesus freak.

I do hope you get what I am writing here. This is not something you just necessarily get...easily. There are a lot of ingrained prejudices that have to be transcended before you can stop being such a dick about the belief systems of other people.

Jesus was a man who taught the great message, and the way of eternal life. He gave anyone who wanted to have it a gateway to God Consciousness. He taught the two great laws that are so difficult to practice...but so fruitful, too.

They are:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Matthew 22: 37-39

This is the same compass that ALL the masters have taught us. And the great masters have come and gone...some have been born directly from God...and are God manifested in the flesh...in the literal sense...and all are God, anyway.

Including you-you-you.

In closing this article, I strongly urge you to get the book “God Consciousness,” written directly by God. Read the book carefully. Follow the lessons that are clearly written for you by God.

This is the quickest path to God Consciousness, and will not fail you. It is not easy...that's true. You will have to learn how to apply your self-awareness during waking state of consciousness to the continuous process of returning to your practice whenever you become aware that you are no longer with the specific focus you are currently practicing.

What does this mean?

Well, for example, God (my guru) told me last night to use this focus: “I am God.”

And to keep my awareness with this...stick to it...and come back to it when I remembered I was not with it.

During normal family time and work time, and so on, this focus does get swallowed by the dynamic and wonderful interaction with other people, creatures, places and things. But it is there (coming back to the focus), and with one quick thought is activated, over and over.

I am truly present with people (for example) and not off in some ivory tower mood-making trip. I am a real, lively, zesty person.

The benefits for me of following this specific teaching to me by my guru (God) are tangible and noticeable by all in my immediate circle.

The daily drama that I am immersed in...and boy, is there drama!...does not trigger me into the usual insanity that so often crippled me...in the past.

More about that in future articles to come.

This is, in part, why I strongly encourage you to get the book, and study it with your whole heart and soul. This is a manifestation of pure knowledge, delivered by God for this modern age...for you-you-you.
